Ascocarp Morphology. Ascocarp subglobose or globose, orifice or cavity absent, 0.6-3(-4) cm in diameter, brown or red (reddish brown), smooth, peridium scabrous (200-300 micron di diameter), color of spore-bearing tissue red or brown (pale fawn), veins large and rare. Peridium 250-400(-500) micron, yellow-brown or red-brown, anatomical structure pseudoparenchymatic with angular cells or pseudoparenchimatic with roundish cells, cell tangential dimension (11-)18-26(-32) micron, cell radial dimension (11-)18-26(-32) micron, color hyaline, anatomical structure pseudoparenchimatic with roundish cells or plectenchymatic (thin walled hyphae arranged parallel to surface), external cystidia absent. Sterile veins pseudoparenchimatic.

Asci ans spores Morphology. Asci globose, major axis 60-90 micron, minor axis 45-60 micron, number of spores per ascus 1-4(-5), irregularly clustered.

Spores ellipsoid or subglobose, major axis 24-26 micrometer lenght, minor axis 20-21 micrometer lenght, color pale brown or medium brown, reticulation; ornamentation length 4-5 micron; mesh width (4-)6-15(-20) micron; number of meshes along the major axis 4-6(-7).

Distribution. Habitat temperate; Putative plant host Quercus, or Fagus.
